It always amuses me that these stories of tiny amount of growth or reduction in the economy have these mundane little explanations. "Retail growth of 0.000000000001% has been attributed to Mrs Miggins deciding to buy posh bread on a Saturday as a little treat."

Monday will mark 50 years since Agatha Christie died, and I'll be speaking about her legacy across BBC radio stations that day, and on TV in Europe. Here's a lovely picture of Agatha in 1974, age 84, getting out of her wheelchair to greet the Queen at the premiere of Murder on the Orient Express
