I mean, yes, but like also: Apparently every other group under the sun too.

I’ve been on the internet for 30+ year now. I don’t know how on Earth I hadn’t guessed this already.

Oh, seriously - it is *amazing*. Absolute Martian Manhunter & Absolute Wonder Woman are gold standard cape comics. And Absolute Batman is also gloriously stupid fun. The rest of the Absolute line is very meh, but those 3 are fantastic.

Again: Not complaining at all here, and I can’t say thank you enough to all the people who’ve loaned my books & the libraries who support it. It’s been a financially brutal year in our house, and it’s incredibly welcome. Just wonder if there’s a way to use PLR to address wider issues.

The issue that raises, to me, is that the money is more needed at the lower earning end of publishing - with average author earnings being in the gutter. Is there a more useful way to weight/target this income?

However my question about the system is this: As you get to that top end of £6,600, surely the less you need that money? It implies you’re either heavily borrowed or prolific, both of which indicates that your income from publishing is likely pretty high*, & you’re less reliant on stuff like PLR.

I’ll do full disclosure here - I’ve earned £3,216 for 2024-2025, off the back of 4 Bumble & Snug books (the fifth book came out just after calculation period closed out). I am absolutely not complaining at all here, and god knows the money is very welcome.

To be fair, a book about the Roman Empire is pretty well timed.
