Any state that can arrest you for merely holding a sign that declares your opposition to genocide is an authoritarian state, a police state, a state that totters on a cliff towards fascism.

I've posted about the inability of Trump supporters to "see" Trump's actual words, but this is not limited to Republicans. In 2024, we saw Democrats cover their ears to avoid hearing the names of murdered Palestinian children; how is this any different from the willful ignorance of Trump supporters?

I've met Trump supporters online who can't "see" or acknowledge Trump's words, and for this reason, can't understand what all the "fuss" is about. They read Trump's message, but (apparently) only parts of it; the rest, they skip, or file away as mere noise in a signal otherwise clear... to them.

Why do people ignore the Gazan genocide? Yet I think back to nazi crimes. Despite the documents, the testimonies, the pits clogged with starved and gassed bodies, many people still deny the Holocaust. Why be shocked, then, that people can deny atrocities right in front of their faces, right now?
