I've posted about the inability of Trump supporters to "see" Trump's actual words, but this is not limited to Republicans. In 2024, we saw Democrats cover their ears to avoid hearing the names of murdered Palestinian children; how is this any different from the willful ignorance of Trump supporters?

I've met Trump supporters online who can't "see" or acknowledge Trump's words, and for this reason, can't understand what all the "fuss" is about. They read Trump's message, but (apparently) only parts of it; the rest, they skip, or file away as mere noise in a signal otherwise clear... to them.

There's a fascinating psychology to the ppl who elected Trump because they liked him on TV, ignored and compartmentalized the terrible things he says about people they don't care about, but got viscerally offended at his Rob Reiner comments because it was about another guy that they liked from TV.
