Last night all the powerful people in the U.S. and Britain had dinner together. Trump, King Charles, Tim Cook, Sam Altman, etc. Putting aside things like democracy, each was there to ensure that his own power and wealth are not diminished, no matter what. There was a scene like this in Animal Farm.

I don't know about anyone else, but I think Democrats need to go on extreme offense. Redraw the maps in California, New York, and everywhere else they can. For once and for all, stop believing Republicans will do anything in good faith. We are in a war with fascists. Acknowledge it. Act accordingly.

Rallies and protest movements are growing, which is great.

Realize, however, that the MAGA wants to shoot peaceful protestors in the street, then declare martial law. That's where we're headed.

The Administration is cutting foreign aid by 90%. Literally taking food from the mouths of starving babies. And striking a blow to American power and prestige that no enemy could match.

How to respond most effectively, as opposed to talking among ourselves?

Which organizations and/or candidates to support financially? Who is organizing street protests?

Ideas, please!

Musk and Trump are shutting down the federal government. Whom does the federal government help most? Voters in Republican states.

Trump wants to be king. Musk is from Silicon Valley, where ignoring laws is de rigueur for would-be entrepreneurs.

Both feel unbound by the rules that apply to ordinary humans, must less by the customs required for a civilized society.

If anyone needed another reason to quit Facebook, the company just announced it will no longer use third-party fact checkers.

Like other billionaires, Mark Zuckerberg is caving to Donald Trump and MAGA generally, who want a world where truth no longer matters.

I'm very disappointed with Apple, first the unnecessary and complicated new buttons on the iPhone 16, then the heavily marketed apple intelligence, which I find to be worse than a dud.

Anyone else?
