This is what happens when you live in a dollhouse, I mean bubble.

Isn't it amazing how the billionaires turn out to be cowards?

As much as we men love power and wealth, nobody wants to be Jeff Bezos.

I'm an Eagles fan. They should never have gone to the White House.

Not really. When the presidency is occupied by a Democrat, Alito is suspicious of executive authority to the point of disbelief. Only when the presidency is occupied by a Republican do his autocratic instincts surface.

Alito is not so much an ideologue as a run-of-the-mill partisan.

At first I thought it was from Karoline Leavitt.

This is one of the reasons the world abandoned tariffs 100 years ago: they invite corruption.

If they invite corruption everywhere, imagine what they will do in this Administration.

Meanwhile people like Elizabeth Warren think we'll get excited over all the bills she's introducing, which go straight into the Senate garbage.
April 16, 2025 at 8:42 PM
Senator Warren, you are tone-deaf. All these bills you're introducing will go nowhere. You know it, all of us know it. Introducing meaningless bills just reminds us of our political weakness. Find something more inspiring.

I don't understand it.

Could it be a cult? 😐

Wonderful column!

Trump plays one-dimensional chess. He can't anticipate that any player but himself gets a turn.
April 8, 2025 at 8:25 PM
Where the heck is this coming from? What a strange, self-absorbed take on American politics.
March 25, 2025 at 7:00 PM
Because fascism is inherently violent.
March 24, 2025 at 4:39 PM
This is one of many tensions in the MAGA movement. Some of its most vocal advocates are right wing Jews eager to give Netanyahu a free hand and punish criticism of Israel, yet every Nazi and quasi-Nazi voted for Trump, and MAGA language and symbolism have clear antisemitic references.

I understand the anger and frustration but disagree. Democrats would be blamed for shutting down the government. Satisfying in the short term, political suicide in the longer term. Democrats must remain the adult party.
March 14, 2025 at 2:05 PM
Unfortunately you're right. I'm embarrassed to drive mine. I will sell it by the end of the year.
March 12, 2025 at 12:56 PM
American businessmen thought "Who cares if he's a fascist? He likes us and will cut our taxes."

Russian businessmen thought the same when Putin came to power. So did German businessmen in 1933.

Businessmen aren't dumb in an IQ sense but seem uniquely unable to see beyond their bubbles.

Musk's toxic politics could doom Tesla no matter what. But there's something even more fundamental. Investors might finally be realizing that Tesla is a car company, not a technology company, and that other car companies make better cars.
March 10, 2025 at 6:58 PM
This had to happen. I should have sold the stock short.

Of course, Musk blames it on a secret conspiracy.

I'm a lawyer. That letter is perfect.

As someone who works in the investment world, I agree 100%. An "American sovereign wealth fund" would be used to fund those who give money to or otherwise support Donald Trump.
March 5, 2025 at 6:49 PM
Ain't going to happen.

This is 1933, my friends.
