Quite. Many of their political aspirations overlap with the left/centre-left, but their continual pratfalls and foot shooting antics lead the mass of mostly politically disengaged people to tar us all with the same brush (and are a total gift to right-wing media).

The thing they disrupt the most are their own political ambitions.

That’s where they are now two of their MPs have walked away.

The age old narrative about ‘benefits scroungers’ and the idiotic idea that people have children solely to increase their benefits - coupled with the idea promoted by Reform et al that all those welfare billions are going to asylum seekers or some such bollocks.

Your faith based horror film kicks ass.

Ngl though - this film intrigues me, even though that’s the dumbest most ignorant comment ever, and the film holds a 38% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Ideally advise him into the sun.

Christ! They dug up John Redwood, the lunatic’s lunatic.

One of the reasons I gave the ‘Jimmy & Stiggs’ BluRay a swerve over at Vinegar Syndrome. His name is a big red flag - why Joe Begos would hitch his wagon to that toxic brand is a mystery to me.

Think I remember this Twilight Zone episode.

Low cunning is exactly the term I’ve always used.

Seen this twice now. Absolutely stunning short.

His denials are absolutely littered with qualifiers, that all suggest that as far as he’s concerned, yes, he is racist, but a terribly polite racist.

The Jonah Kit, Miracle Visitors, Alien Embassy - all wild high concept novels that could be adapted into the kind of high concept TV very much in vogue with the likes of Apple TV these days.

Used to see him annually at Eastercon (and at Newcon Press book launch parties). Last time I saw him though he had some mobility challenges - hopefully he’ll be over from Spain this coming Easter.

Sara Pascoe has a telling story about Farage, meeting him in a dressing/green room, introducing herself as a comedian, and him responding that he ‘doesn’t find comedy funny’. They’re all dead inside.

It’s very typical of the type of person he is how his idea of humour is based largely around cruelty.

It’s why people like him, Trump, Farage et al don’t seem to get comedy. Their lack of empathy always means they go directly to cruelty. For something to be funny *always* requires a victim.

See also RFK Jr. He needs to rot in jail for the number of deaths that he will be responsible for. If I believed in it, I’d also say ‘burn in hell’, but I don’t so I’d much rather it be the former.

Though obviously not suggesting the clearly mythical ‘4D Chess’ version of Trump, rather the more basic hour-to-hour (minute-to-minute?) serving of short term power plays to his own financial or political advantage that we know he more likely operates under.
