Ok, so I really didn’t like Danny Boyle’s ‘28 Years Later’. It was messy, unstructured, full of daft ideas that went nowhere and spoiled what made the original unique - and some of it was just badly directed.

But wow - ‘The Bone Temple’ - light and shade, 100 times better - what a turnaround!

Dipped my toe into Reddit for research purposes. Wow! There are a lot of arseholes on there aren’t there!

Deleted it again - life’s way too short.

Should books have spoiler warnings? e.g. SPOILER WARNING: This cosy mystery gives away the identity of the murderer near the end.

‘Hamnet’ is excellent, but to use a handy phrase I picked up from @danpopomatic.bsky.social, it’s a bit of a day ruiner.

Jessie Buckley needs to win all the shiny things.

Bloody hilarious!
This wheel is to the boy squirrel the way that the football is to Charlie Brown and it still makes me laugh every time he tries to use it only to be immediately spun.

What’s really pleasing is both the photos I found of my childhood cinemas are from 1978 when I was 9 years old, and the marquees on both indicate they are showing films which I saw at these cinemas.
What was your #childhoodcinema

I had two in Stockport.

The Ritz, Duke St. Opened 1938, closed 1982, demolished 1986.

The Classic, Wellington Rd - opened 1937 as the Carlton, became the Essoldo in 1948, a 2nd screen was added in 1971 becoming the Classic in 1972. Closed 1992. Demolished 1994.
