This administration is built around pretexting. Claiming an "emergency" in order to deploy troops on American soils. Claiming "drug shipments" in order to murder foreign nationals without trial. Using a shooting, a DAILY OCCURRENCE in America, as a pretext to suppress free speech.

I recently hired a handyman to fix a leaky toilet. But then he decided to remodel my bathroom against my wishes. I told him he wasn't allowed to do that.

He called me a hypocrite, saying that since I was already utilizing his services for some things, I was no longer allowed to pick and choose.

I love how the New York Times soft pedals the lede, saying that firing the head of the Labor Bureau "echoes" the authoritarian playbook, as opposed to " comes directly from" the authoritarian playbook.
New York Times headline, "Trump's efforts to control information echo an authoritarian playbook". The sub headline reads, " President Trump fired the officials who compiled job's data, underscoring his tendency to suppress facts he doesn't like and promote his own version of reality."
