I didn't say it wouldn't be a _hostile_ takeover. But taking over the Democratic party is the most effective strategy because our electoral system only really supports two parties, and you have to displace one of the two dominant parties to have a chance at national power. Same way MAGA did it.

That has been my growing conclusion as well. The tournament of accumulation has reached a point where the winners can now completely control policy, rather than just exercise undo influence upon it.

I'm not sure that's a fair cop. I haven't have a mega aunt. She's the nicest person, in person. I suspect she's adopted the worldview being pushed by Fox, where illegal immigrants are just evil, and the ICE response is justified. I think "moral incompetence" is a very apt description.
