I've been updating claude.ai (3.7 Sonnet) on what's been happening in the US since its knowledge cutoff (October 2024). I had to tell it to assume that what I am telling it is true, but it seems pretty concerned!

First they came for USAID, and we did nothing because it wasn't a hill we were prepared to die on.
Then they came for the FBI, and we did nothing because it wasn't a hill we were prepared to die on.
Then they came for Congress, and we did nothing because we were in handcuffs and under armed guard.
Very serious Democratic strategists advise the party to allow Trump to illegally dismantle USAID -- a decision that will result in the unnecessary deaths of people around the world.

I have been telling people since the US election that the world has more to fear from Musk than Trump this time around. Sometimes I hate being right.

Look, obviously Trump doesn't know what happened. But, just as you'd expect, the one thing he knows for sure is that IT'S NOT HIS FAULT! I'm sure that everybody affected by this tragedy will be greatly comforted by that knowledge.

With this on top of the FDA banning Red Food Dye No. 3, it seems like a pretty good news day for rats.

Thank god someone's thinking of the rats!
The FDA this week banned the use of Red Dye No. 3 in food, citing concerns that the common dye could cause cancer in rats.

What does the science say about its health effects? What foods will be affected? Here are common questions about the newly banned additive.

I honestly don't know why anyone is surprised by this. Musk hires people (e.g. at Tesla, SpaceX, etc) to do stuff they're good at, and then takes all the credit. It's what he does. Same thing here. I don't think he believes it is cheating. It's just how he thinks the world works.
this is way funnier than I thought it would be. Elon, claiming to be a literal global top ten Path of Exile 2 player, does not know to drink a potion when he runs out of mana www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmEe...

Imposing tariffs might, in some cases, mean that made-in-US products are cheaper than imports. But they will still be more expensive than imports without tariffs. So people will still be paying more. Convince me this is not inflationary.
