Hardman is the most obvious "back up a truck, make him exclusive, let him do whatever" talent out there for DC. This one has a verve to it, a hum, that is going to make the whole thing a perennial paperback.

Ten pages from the end, the narrator intrudes so forcefully upon the reader's experience that it rendered every page prior to it wasted effort.
