I'm Mark O. Stack, and I write comics about people in fantastic situations processing real emotions.

I really appreciated working with Rebecca Taylor on Travis Muñoz and the Fire of the Aztecs. Tay always pushed us to be clear, dig deep, and respect the audience we were making the book for. Probably the most invaluable professional experience I've ever had working in comics as a writer.
I don’t think editors get enough recognition. Who are your favorite comic book editors?

Proud to have been a part of this anthology!
Wow! Thanks to the Broken Frontier Awards and voters for naming Samidoon the best one-shot anthology of 2025. The team and I are honored and very happy our work has touched people, as well as raising funds for the PRCS.

Their behavior is utterly inhumane.

Jackie took me to Barnes & Noble for a birthday shopping spree (I did the same with her at Joann's before it shut down), and every time she checked in on me she laughed about the stack getting taller and me hiding the spines so no one would try to talk to me about my selections.
The employees kept offering me baskets, but I told them I wanted to feel the weight of this purchase.

Dr. King in March, 1965 at Jimmie Lee Jackson’s funeral— a 26 year old Army veteran hunted & murdered by police during a nonviolent protest in Marion, AL, whose killing directly inspired the Selma-to-Montgomery march four days later.

The moon landing hits so hard in Mad Men after seasons of people only gathered around the TV to watch assassination and war before one bright, wholly optimistic moment. Absolutely fantastic.

I would very much like this year to see Keezy ascendant with a hefty 3-book deal

It would mean a lot to me if you could help Kody out with this today:
There are so many causes out there you could put your money towards, but if you would care to put some towards the cost of Einstein's euthanasia ($867), my family of now just two would be so appreciative.

one day I'll describe a comic like "Stan Lee's Spider-Man" on here instead of "Steve Ditko & Stan Lee's Spider-Man." that is your cue to find me and kill the dunder-headed doppleganger who has somehow outwitted and replaced me. cut my head off. bury me in four graves at the corners of the Earth.

SHELVED BY GENRE awakens far below the Misty Mountains, and with riddles and talking eagles and exploding pine cones, the hosts continue their discussion of THE HOBBIT! Also, we learn so much about what Tolkien thought of airplanes. rangedtouch.com/2026/01/16/t...

I've been told this a few times, and I think it's a helpful comment (and am quoting it to say a few words about method, not so say the quoted message is wrong), but there is something interesting about the way we treat Tolkien and fantasy as somehow out of space and time 1/? bsky.app/profile/gjoh...
Love your takes on these so far!

Tiny, tiny note relating to modern language compared to Tolkien's: 'Wand' and 'staff' mean the same thing. There's actually no difference in the words pulled from Old Norse, so the distinction we make thanks to fantasy stuff now is new. Gandalf always had his staff.
