IZA (the German labor economics institute that had lost its main source of financial support) has found a new home and will continue as a convener and disseminator of knowledge.

Upjohn Institute's @martalachowska.bsky.social ’s paper will be presented at the @nberpubs Summer Institute 2025 Labor Studies conference in Cambridge, MA., on 7/22. The findings are based on “Firms and the Gender Wage Gap: A Comparison of Eleven Countries.” Conference runs 7/21–23.

Join us today in welcoming Alfonso Flores-Lagunes as our new Vice President and Director of Research. Flores-Lagunes was previously a professor of economics at the Maxwell School, and a senior research associate in the Center for Policy Research, at Syracuse University.

David Roodman has written a new Stata package that replicates `reghdfe` using Julia. The new implementation requires installing Julia but is about 10x faster. Details available here:
