There are two names that have pulled that off in recent years! The one I got scammed by is the one still hiding out and using fake names online. The other one has casually sauntered back into the hobby hoping nobody would notice lol. I almost passed out when I saw him at a table a few months back.

I've reread that Rascal article on the Yazeba's situation a few times. And while nothing was ever going to survive "We got convinced to send all our gorgeous, lovingly-made product to Obvious Scam Distribution Incorporated," I can't see how those contracts were ever gonna be paid in full.

sorry for asking again. I've got less than $20 to my name after groceries and insurance payments this week, still unemployed and just wasted my time with a scam job offer, and pretty sure my brother is taking advantage of me financially to a degree. it's not too dire or anything but id appreciate it

I'm a frequent reporter of romance scam accounts. BlueSky moderation team must be sick of me. 😁 They shut down offenders quickly, tho. I always send proof w/ links to the Insta/website of the person whose likeness they stole. Scammers are sometimes using A.I. profile pics now, unfortunately. 😫

Yeah unfortunately my account on there got hacked into after i fell for a scam, it was the most stressful month of my life 😢

I’ll bet you get a call from the school to say they made a mistake. They’re assuming you already deposited the check, and they’ll ask for a credit card to reverse the mistake. The check will eventually bounce, but now they’ve got your valid credit card. Which is what the scam is about.
