Plenty of people have been in contact with their loved ones only for the contact to suddenly cease and then - only when they press the detention centers - are they informed that they were moved somewhere else. If that's not disappearing I don't know what is.

Well, they're often taken without their family or friends' knowledge and sent to some distant detention center and then - if they're lucky - they get to call their family and explain what happened and where they are, but they're likely to just be moved randomly without explanation.

I've never left the country, I am a legal citizen by all means. If I have to bring anything more than my ID I guarantee you I will not be able to vote. I don't know where my birth certificate is man. I don't even know if it's in my house anymore.
