✨Request for unpublished data✨ Meta-analysis on early (age 3 to 6 years) math interventions. Please reach out to me (Mary DePascale) or Nicole Scalise by November 9 if you are willing to share your data!
Flyer with images of the Washington State University and University at Albany logos, followed by the following text:

Dear Colleagues,

We (Dr. Mary DePascale, University at Albany, SUNY; Dr. Nicole Scalise, Washington State University) are currently conducting a meta-analysis on the effectiveness of early math interventions. We are currently requesting unpublished data on this topic to include in our meta-analysis.

Specifically, we are looking for datasets that include:

1.	Child participants (preschool age; ages 3 to 6 years)
2.	An early math intervention (not including curricula)
3.	A control or comparison group
4.	At least one child math outcome collected after the intervention (e.g., posttest data)

If you are willing to share your data or have questions about whether your data fits these criteria, please email us directly (mdepascale@albany.edu, nicole.scalise@wsu.edu) by November 9, 2025.

Thank you!

Dr. Mary DePascale & Dr. Nicole Scalise

We examined research on the role of math games for math development (preschool – grade 3), with a focus on the role of game contexts, types, content areas, and features.

Themes from the reviewed literature include: the impact of game design factors, math outcomes studied, and dosage of gameplay.

Save the date for our February Special, Math Cognition in Context. Join us on February 24 at 11am ET / 8am PT / 4pm GMT / 5pm CET for a research article discussion, facilitated by Nicholas Vest.
Flyer for MCLS trainee February Special: Math Cognition in Context. Includes the following information: Join our trainee research chair, Nicholas Vest, for a discussion on math cognition in context. We'll be reading Draper et al. (2022) to explore the publication challenges faced by researchers studying child development in Majority World/Global South/non-WEIRD/low- and middle-income countries. The article examines publication bias, generalizability, contextual relevance (especially in measurement), the impact of the funding cycle, and offers recommendations for more inclusive journals (Draper et al., 2022, Infant and Child Development). This discussion is in collaboration with the Math Cognition Reading Group, and all members are welcome to attend.
