So much of children's programming does not depict children as independent and driven human beings with a purpose and identity. In German American communities, there are still places where Autistic people lack services and accommodation called service deserts, exploited by ABA.

"Class participation" is a good example of why we must look beyond mere behavior. Motive matters more than frequency or even quality. Is it genuine engagement (wondering aloud) or just an attempt to impress the teacher?
