Today we unveiled Maryland's new driver's license and ID card design featuring an optional Hidden Disability symbol.

Under a new law, known as Eric's ID Law, Marylanders with hidden disabilities may add a butterfly symbol on their driver’s license, ID card or moped permit.

The laws strengthen penalties for holders of commercial driver’s licenses convicted of driving under the influence and increase penalties for impaired drivers who leave the scene of a serious crash.
