i don't think i'm blaming the padres for this one (outside of hiring him in the first place) cause like, elias and mejdal weren't innocent in creating an environment so toxic evan drellich wrote a book about it. birds of a feather and what not.

even if that were true (big if!), the answer to "is it worth the true cost" is still undeniably no. I do not give a shit about your productivity if it comes at the cost of even one single person being talked into killing themselves, and we've already crossed that bridge

No, because there isn’t actually any evidence that it provides value in the specific use case of, for instance, software engineering, and a growing body of evidence that it does the opposite. Every aspect of the bullshit machine is bullshit, and it’s weird that people get mad when you notice that

I think it’s cool that you’re making an effort to respond to people dunking on you, that’s not usually the case with people who are in a cult, but I also think it should be made clear that you 100% deserved all of the dunking so far and all of the dunking that’s still to come.
