It's "okay" so far. It's the typical slop from A2M I've experienced many times before.

The entirety of its design is padding, everything is meant to take as long as possible because that's their design ethos.

They had a very lengthy mine cart segment directly lifted from DK64, so there's that.

It's looking more certain that they're fine with cooking their website.

Even if they somehow course corrected (severe doubt) the fact it's gotten this far makes it very easy for me to never use RA again.

Sadly yes. But unsurprising. Many people in positions of power are unsavory and the retro community are full of them.

You see this shit everywhere and with fascism on the rise, people are more emboldened than ever.

Sadly evidence has shown they will not do the necessary bans and clean up to show good faith. As is the admin saying “both sides” and then editing it out later shows their whole ass.

like you're not gonna get a good experience emulating Cocoto Funfair on Dolphin. But that's not a problem with the mainstream user who's using it to play the same 20 good gamecube games over and over.

Not every gamecube game emulates perfectly, despite what mainstream youtubers would lead you to believe. Not even the Dolphin devs claim this.

Missing visual effects, some completely garbled still.

Mainstream games often work without issue.

This is more an issue for the GC Challenge, really.

By the way, it's worth keeping in mind that there are far better ways to play most of the games on RetroAchievements.

There's this neat thing called a MiSTer FPGA, and you'd have a far more pleasant experience on that for retro gaming, than most software emulators.

RA is not running an essential service. This was a very preventable fuck-up which would've gone through no problems if nobody said anything.
