Hi Blue Sky,

I've been putting together a little podcast on Maths History, following The Mathematicians of old.

I'd be honoured if you'd listen along at mathematicians.podbean.com

Talking to my 3-year-old another day:

"We played the floor is lava today"

(Ooh a teaching moment)

"Oh right, and what is lava?"

...

"The floor"

Well played Lily, you out smarted me.

I had another delightful maths moment with @hopeiona.bsky.social, where we talked at length on the nature of #infinity. If you'd like to listen in then you can find our interview here.

It turns out it's really hard to draw #Isometric paper by hand.

My teacher always told me I wouldn't walk around with a protractor in my pocket, and it turns out she was right.

In other news, I might have discovered a new #OEIS

Spoiler: 1, 6, 18, 45, 87

I do love it when I am browsing the #OEIS and I find a comment that was within the last few weeks. Oddly titillating to know that someone else passed this way so recently.

My wife asked me if these two lines will intersect in 3D space. I said, I'm the maths teacher, so I will ask "-ew"

Word of the day: Vinculum - The line used in a fraction.

Joke of the day: There's a fine line between a numerator and a denominator.

A contentious opinion:

A4 #origami is superior to square form, as you can connect two A4 sheets for a 41% larger di-tonal construction.

1:1 ratios can suck it

Hi @fractalkitty.com, My attempt for day 1 of #mathober with the prompt #link.

I was inspired by the loops created by rows of crochet, and tried to render this using a parametric plot.

Maybe someone with better crochet skills than me could do a realistic pattern.
