Awaiting their Feast looks at Latinx food activism and the desire for latino labor alongside the animosity towards latino immigration. It focuses on the Northeast with a considerable amount of time on Maine. It is a fascinating read. 4/4

...is harder than it looks & doing it effectively is a talent that has to be practiced and honed. The future of #democracy and civil discourse demand it.

The thing that keeps me teaching still is knowing how important this work is and being part of it.

But it is serious too. Whether they are refuting with numbers and figures or with words, jumping in to defend the truth (e.g. PR is American)...

there are basically not enough republican voters to create enough safe seats to withstand the kind of wave that, for example, turned virginia into a democratic supermajority state for the first time in the modern era of its politics
