People are confused why Ruin the Friendship, a song about wishing you got ur high school crush to cheat on his girlfriend before he died, is on the album. It's meant to serve as a cautionary tale to pursue what you want even if it upsets others cause you might not get the opportunity again.

On Eldest Daughter she discusses how mean the Internet is then says "When I said I don't believe in marriage that was a lie". It's not that wanting to be married with kids is anti-feminist, but when you claim that "the Internet" forced you to say you don't want to, it becomes anti-feminist rhetoric

During her Kamala endorsement she proudly called herself a "childless cat lady". Now on Wi$h Li$t she's talking down on people who want those "three dogs that you call kids" and how excited she is to have kids in the future as if it's meant to be some sick burn to those she was supporting before.

The whole album is built around the metaphor of Ophelia from Hamlet with the men in Ophelia's life representing people who have kept her down (mainly the internet). The madness and drowning of Ophelia is meant to represent the facade of independence and solidarity Taylor thinks she has to put on.

I meant crimes outside of immigration. But if the only reason those people aren't supposed to be here is "because the law says so" rather than any practical reason, maybe it's just not a good law. If the path to citizenship was easier where all those people could be citizens, there would be no issue

Many illegal immigrants do pay taxes. In fact, one way ICE locates immigrants is through tax records. If there's an immigrant who pays taxes and has no criminal record, but doesn't have citizenship, why should they be left out of the government programs they are PAYING for?

Using Sharkey, or any non-Mastodon instance for that matter, made me dislike Mastodon more and more
