An anonymous music platform where songs are put together by a bunch of unknown and unrelated people. No musical ownership, just vague cultural communities putting together and sharing music.

Most Fedi platform outside of Mastodon are WAY better tbh. Sharkey has been a personal favorite. You have antennas for custom feeds, quote posts, built in browser games, emote reactions, etc... and the vibe of most servers there are different from how formal most Mastodon servers are.
maybe i just used it wrong back when i tried to sign up but mastodon had linkdin energy i couldn't find very many jokes or shitposts that were any good

It's weird cause Bluesky usually holds creators to such a higher standard. Taylor's album's main theme is anti-feminist. There's the racist micro-aggressions, the focus on the male gaze, merch marketing towards conservatives, etc...

But for some reason there has been nothing but silence here.
Bluesky is REALLY not matching the energy TikTok people are having toward Taylor Swift and it shows, why are people still being so uncritical over here LMAO

I'm seeing nothing major here at all, where's all the discussions and critiques of her horrible album?

Barely a mention of it, it's weird af

Why is the Heritage Foundation even on here ?????
The COO of bluesky, Rose, is following the heritage foundation account on bluesky.
She is the COO en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chief_o... of bsky. This is worrying because after the 'we are turning waffles into an anti-trans thing' by the CEO the CEO started to follow a transphobe. Shows a pattern.

Wonder when we find out one of them follows the discovery institute.

I feel like the most comprehensive interpretation of The Life of a Showgirl is as anti-feminist commentary

I have a feeling this is the plan. They want Bluesky to be the "Neutral center" of discussion. All those articles calling it a leftist echo chamber have them spooked there won't be more growth, so they are willing to fold to literal hate speech if it means they get more of the "center" in.
Hey im running a new social media platform built on decentralisation. Decentralisation is when you have a big thing in the middle that every other thing is connected to right

Is canceling even a thing anymore? I only ever see it brought up as a constant complaint about "internet culture" from conservatives and performative "progressives" who treat it as this huge looming threat I've their careers, but I don't see anyone actually doing it

"Okay, maybe we can have some socialism, but only for the true people of OUR nation." sounds like something lil party called the "National Socialist Party" would get behind.

Btw, for people who couldn't tell, the Antifa warning is NOT an actual warning. It's a joke about Bluesky moderation. Tho the fact it's hidden behind an actual Bluesky warning makes it seem more legit lol
ya know, the more i hear about this “Hitler” guy, the more i don’t care for him. seems like a real jerk!

I think it’s important and not discussed enough that the majority of the alt right gamersphere “leaders” are actually taking massive amounts of people’s money and delivering them nothing but endless rage for it.

"Frankie being canonically confirmed cis ruins trans headcanons". While disappointing, tbh official canon shouldn't drown out or stop any canon made by fans. "Fanon" interpretation should be equally as valid as the official canon.
Frankie is cis, she just has a lot of nicknames.
I have friends who call me Dan, DBO, Danny. Just happens sometimes.

There needs to be a difference between "Copyright", having control over a work you created, and "intellectual property" which allows people to own, buy, and sell pieces of culture. Cultural monopolies like Disney, Universal, etc... shouldn't exist
Is there something like a CC BY-SA licence, but doesn't allow copying? A license that's like "You can't commercially redistribute this book word for word, but you can create and sell adaptations, sequels, things that use the characters and settings, etc... just allow others to do the same".

Remembering the whole "private account" fiasco where Mastodon implemented "private accounts" that were fully viewable by pretty much any other Fedi platform with most users having no idea. I don't even know if this was fixed
Using Sharkey, or any non-Mastodon instance for that matter, made me dislike Mastodon more and more

If anyone is thinking of going on the fediverse, I highly recommend choosing a Sharkey instance over a Mastodon instance.

Off topic, but every passing day there's more validation for socializing pop culture, yet I've never heard someone bring it up. Letting big companies have control over deeply influential cultural figures and icons in general is unethical and one of the systems being abused most for social control
I am going to be real, I believe that boycotting and cancelling booked vacation days at the Disney Parks would caused more significant damage to the brand and reputation of The Walt Disney Company than simply cancelling a streaming service subscription that people can easily come back to.

The fediverse in general is just a different vibe tho and it affects how the platforms are developed. After almost a year of doing the fediverse equivalent of distro-hopping from platform to platform, client to client, and server to server, there's nothing really that compares to the Bluesky client.
this site is not twitter 2 its ultimately just a mastodon server but with the worst mods imaginable. we can just all go to mastodon if we all agree which serv-- ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I also idk why some people consider them "party games". Party games rely on quick sessions that could be finished in one seating during a party. Games like Peak definitely can't.
I feel like the only one that doesn't mind Friendslop as a genre or name. It's fun little janky (usually on purpose) games that have features that encourage unique self-expression and socialization. While I guess they could be considered "co-op" games they feel pretty distinct.

The thing is that statistically, it's those who can't afford an iPhone and who have minimal disposable income, that need this app most. Those people deserve a better explanation on why suggested solutions for Android don't work other than a hand wavy "just trust us".
Posting "why isn't this on Android", is not helpful. User anonymity is far more important than supporting multiple platforms. 54% of the country uses an iPhone.

We know people have their own ideas to make it work, but please trust that we know what we're doing to keep people safe.

Numerous Android developers are in your comments talking about ways to deal with the push notification issue and you haven't addressed any of them. The majority of immigrants use Android. Ur #1 priority should be to get it in their hands, not tell them to "get an iPhone".
As there has been such heated discussion regarding Android, we updated our website with a message about Android device support.
