I have just had the most emotionally volatile 24 hours of my life because of this fucking company. Even if Animate is sticking around, I am finishing this movie and moving on to replacements.

I haven’t even gotten the email yet and that really fucking scares me that I’m losing access in a month.

They’re discontinuing Adobe Animate on March 1st. Support will continue for one year, at which point it will shut down

The only silver lining I can think of is that this is going to sink Adobe as a company. You are pissing off an entire industry that uses more than just this one program - do you really think we’re just gonna shrug off Animate and keep everything else? No bitch, you’re losing all of our money

When even the programs we are paying a monthly subscription for want us to be replaced with AI…I don’t see how we overcome that. Clearly they got the Hollywood memo that the industry is done for, and they’re cutting their losses now

I don’t want to be all doom & gloom here since I know there are alternatives, but this Adobe announcement is maybe the first time I’ve genuinely felt like animation is going to disappear.

There are two TV industry standard programs, and one just decided the best move was to pull out entirely.

I always told myself I knew being over-reliant on one specific program was a problem and that I'd learn something new when I was done with this project, and I just feel so dumb for not starting sooner
