Daycare is over $25k/year per kid in DC. Our total aggregate out-of-pocket daycare costs were around $150k for 2 kids. This was in a federally-subsidized daycare.

My childcare costs are still around $10k/year per kid even with them in public school. After school care + day camps over school breaks, nothing fancy, it adds up.

I mean there’s a philosophical question about what the poverty line is measuring. Real median household income is ~2x what it was when the baseline was calculated, so relative to current standard of living someone at the poverty line is poorer today than they were in the past.

Pretty common side effect according to my doc, it’s usually only used as an adjunct to stimulant meds in part for that reason. I already have a fair amount of lethargy so I take Wellbutrin as an adjunct instead, works well so far.
