Playoff baseball is the best. It's just pitcher versus batter, two individuals matched up, over and over. Every ball in play is an epic adventure where anything might happen, and each pitch gives the drama room to breathe. Wish it was my team there again. There's nothing like it.

ngl, still feels a little strange watching #iufb and seeing a #2 over Indiana on the score bug. Feels like a digit is missing.

I was born in the 80s and grew up in a Republican family. The idea that a sitting Republican president would fill his diaper over a true and accurate recording of Ronald Reagan would have been inconceivable for most of my life. That party has become truly lost.

My wife in elementary ed also explained this well. We recognize kids at one end of the distribution need special services and support. It follows that kids at the other end are just as differentiated and need specialized services as well.
My wife is an elementary gifted ed specialist. The idea that gifted kids either don't exist or don't benefit from gifted education services is both wrong and harmful to those kids. Phasing out gifted programs is stupid. www.nytimes.com/2025/10/02/n...

The president just gathered the highest ranking officers in the military to tell them that he may order them to kill American citizens -- and that they better follow his orders. All in response to a series of crises that have no basis in reality.

I don't know how to yell any louder.

Indiana up to third (3!) in the whole country by this per play metric. Gets to play 2 and 4 still this season.
Also, went ahead and stuck this week's SP+ in The Giant Spreadsheet.

Indiana Football spent months being chided for not beating an AP top 25 team, then three weeks into the season you watch an AP voter put winless Notre Dame at 14 and you realize how silly this whole exercise is.

Definitely Last Judge took me longest thus far. But what's great about Silksong, and HK before, the patterns are all there to be learned. My only issues are 1) optimal distance often results with the boss being off screen. 2) hit boxes can be weird, taking hits I shouldn't and not landing my hit.
Silksong is much harder than Hollow Knight (which was already pretty tough!). I wonder how many people will bounce off a certain boss in front of a door with bells

Mendoza has a heck of an arm. Hoping timing gets worked out as the season goes on because the zip in these balls sometimes makes catches more difficult than they need to be. Can't wait to see it clicking. #iufb

Nice answer drive there. Good to see Indiana stop playing with its food and execute. #iufb

it is always worth remembering that vance made a conscious decision to be a person of low character. he has eagerly contorted himself into evil for the sake of what amounts to a whiff of power.
This is an actual exchange from a VP who took an oath to defend the constitution and, as a citizen, is expected to abide by the law.

May we one day have accountability for the grotesque lawlessness of this regime.

Ok. Yeah. I was holding a grudge for those wildly unnecessary props and the delay they caused, but this Carolina Crown show is killer. Powerful, aggressive horn book, and the corps is on the move throughout. I thought this was just another Crown BOA show at first, but I'm digging what it became.

Vance is the most inauthentic and disingenuous person I've seen. Politicians lie; he reinvents history to gaslight you. He lies like he's the smartest person in the room. Actual smart people call him out. Doesn't matter. It's the lie that's important. Orwell's Squealer brought to life.

The screen grab here is disgusting. Trans folks are not a threat. They are friends and coworkers, people living their lives the best they can, just like everyone else. Trans rights are human rights.
They're openly calling to lock up every trans person by force. We need every ally to speak out forcefully against this because trans folks cannot do this on our own.

I adore the ending to Boom from Boston Crusaders. Just a confident anthem to close out the show. It's a statement that says we know we have something special here, and we're bringing it home right now.

Damn, Bluecoats with a heck of a performance as well. The way they play with timing still isn't quite working for me, especially out here on the 15, but that performance is undeniable. When they groove, they groove.

Whatever happens, Boston, that was a championship show and performance.
August 10, 2025 at 2:13 AM
Heck yeah Boston! I'd be thrilled to see them get their first gold. Tight scores across the board. Been a few years since we've had so many slots still competitive. Saturday night is going to be a lot of fun.

Trying to square my thoughts on Bluecoats this year. Their book is incredible, fascinating. But the visuals aren't hitting. Too much white, too little clarity, and the boxes don't read from the stands. Concept hurts too. Some passages sound like a timing or mic issue, not an intended effect.
