Veteran Navy SEAL, entrepreneur, hockey dad, proud husband, Christian, Michigander.
Running for Congress in #MI07 to continue my service to the country.
The Livingston County Dems get it: to win in Michigan’s 7th, you’ve got to outperform the average Democrat in this county. And to do that, you’ve got to be a fighter. I would be the first Democrat Navy SEAL to serve in the House — I’m ready for that fight, and so are the Livingston Dems.

The South Lyon Dems showed up with real energy last night. They’re active, social, and connected to their community, and you can tell they enjoy doing this work together. I’m glad to be part of this strong Team!

Thanks to @dtvpac.bsky.social for being a partner in the mission to protect our democracy from corruption that drives costs up. It’s time to stop throwing hardworking Michiganders under the bus while billionaire donors and special interests come out ahead.

New reporting from @michiganadvance.com says there's no evidence for Tom Barrett's claims that Capitol Police "instructed against" holding a town hall.

Stop hiding, Tom.

Michigan invented the idea of the middle class, where hard work leads to a better life. Strong unions keep it that way.

Great night with UAW 1D leaders this week talking about 2026. Tom Barrett has spent a decade voting against organized labor. I’m running to be a real voice for working people.

What I love most about this campaign is getting to hear from people about what’s going on in their lives. Tom Barrett might not be listening to MI-07, but as your Congressman, I promise to always show up, listen, and work for you.

It was a packed house in East Lansing for our campaign “friend-raiser” this week, and yes, the custom “Matt-tini” and “Matt-hattan” were as good as they look.

No matter what you did, or how long you served, today we say thank you.

This past weekend, in advance of Veterans Day, I joined veterans in Brighton to honor all those who’ve worn our nation’s uniform.

This week I’ll share stories and reflect on how veterans continue to strengthen our communities.

Thank you to all who served!

While the government is shut down and Michigan families need leadership, Tom Barrett skipped work to attend an anti-abortion rally.

I’ve fought to defend our freedoms, not limit them.

HUGE news out of #MI07: A new poll shows us beating Tom Barrett by 4 points in the general election, and dominating the Democratic primary field by a massive margin.

Let’s keep the momentum going. 💪 #TeamMaasdam⁩

Supporting small businesses is one of the fun parts of life on the campaign trail - great lunch at Evelyn Bay Coffee Shop in Charlotte this week before a meeting with local leaders! If you’re in town, stop by to grab a bite and support the folks who keep our main streets thriving.

Team Maasdam was out in full force at today’s #NoKings rally! Thanks to our volunteers and to the hundreds of people who stopped by to sign our nominating petitions - it was such an energy boost to be with other patriotic Michiganders who love our country and stand up for our freedom 💙🇺🇸

It’s official: in the third quarter, Team Maasdam raised the most of any Democratic House challenger in Michigan! 💪

Tom Barrett literally voted to cut Medicaid. Everyone feels what's happening: health care, groceries, and electric bills all cost more. Putting up billboards won't change that!

I had a blast being mic’d up at the MSU Homecoming Parade, with students, neighbors, dogs, and kids everywhere. (And no surprise to any parents: lots of “6-7!” along the route.)

Great to see so many friendly faces, and a big thanks to the MSU ROTC for showing up strong!

East Lansing, you showed up last night!!! Team Maasdam had a blast at the MSU Homecoming parade. Go Green!!! 🟩⬜️

As I told Steve Scully on Sirius XM this week, the fight right now is all about health care.
Tom Barrett's votes are driving costs up, and I’m fighting to bring them down for Michigan families.

Donald Trump doesn’t get to ignore laws just because he feels like it. CONGRESS decides how taxpayer money is spent, and this funding was already approved by law.

Spent the weekend out in Lansing with Jeremy Garza and some awesome Andy Schor volunteers - no better way to hear what’s on neighbors' minds than at their doors!

Another friend-raiser in the books this weekend! Thank you, Susan and Lee, for opening up your home to a great group of friends and neighbors. We’ll flip MI-07 by winning over voters who are common sense, love America, and want reasonably priced healthcare, housing, and groceries. Let’s go!

Deploying around the world showed me that America is the greatest country on Earth. What makes us great is that we hold our freedoms dear - and that includes the freedom of speech.

I’ve spent my career defending our freedoms, and I’ll keep fighting to protect them in Congress.

Thank you to the Eaton County Dems for welcoming me at your monthly meeting this week! So much passion in the room - the Eaton County Dems are high on the list of people most excited to flip MI-07 and make Tom Barrett a one-term Congressman. He’s making life harder and more expensive in Michigan.
