Dad of 2. Platform eng manager. NYC & subway apologist. Amateur long distance runner. Hardcore punk at heart.
Ran 2000 miles this year.

The number 2000 always reminds me of Conan O'Brien's late night bit. Especially the one with Mr T.

"Fools will come to my house to ask me to stop pityin' them. But it will be rainin' and I won't be home so I will continue to pity them."

This warms my heart. Zines were central to DIY culture during my youth. I took every opportunity to contribute to one.
"There’s a freedom people are craving because they’re feeling so constrained, surveilled and, frankly, threatened in so many other spheres."

Zines have made a resurgence as communities seek to share information on everything from ICE raids to local elections.

Surprised. Just swapped OpenBao for Vault in a little Kubernetes POC and it went without a single hitch.

Media companies want there to be two sides. There's enough people on each side that private companies can thrive independently without the other. It is a waste of time to try to capture a wide general audience. Just reinforce the divide as the cost of making content gets cheaper to maximize profit.

First marathon in the books at 3:11:55. At 45 that's a posted time BQ but likely not good enough for next year.

Dinner game is on point this week. Tonight it was a hearty Italian style chopped salad with romaine, red onion, castelvetrano olives, celery, parsley finnochiona, provolone, fried bread crumbs, parmesan and a red wine vinaigrette

This is such a great article.
If realized, New York City's Interborough Express train “has the potential to bring together people who might otherwise never come in contact with one another,” Alex Wolfe writes. So he and the photographer Tom Wilson decided to walk the entirety of the future line.
