The financial ineptitude and lack of accountability of this current government is as shocking as it is disappointing.

Some notably high temperatures for the time of year in northern Europe this week.

Hints of something similar for western Europe later next week too, but uncertain how far north or east it reaches, with colder conditions attempting to advance from the north instead.

We're now over three quarters of the way between the summer solstice on June 21st, and reaching our earliest sunset of the year (to nearest minute) on 8th-10th December-dependent on location ... then we creep back towards this (😅)..

An update to the Atlantic basin first 5 hurricanes mean peak wind speed graph. This season has no reliable precedent.

It's a tragedy that 2025's strongest will not only have the largest area of direct impact on land, but do so while at or close to its peak intensity.

The NOAA aircraft that was investigating Melissa today had to leave the storm early due to "severe turbulence"

This is unusual..an indication of its ferocity

Melissa is STILL intensifying

I’m watching the new #NakedGun movie. It should be absolutely dreadful. There’s no way on earth that humour can work in this day and age, and there is NO way it can work without Leslie Nielsen. So why am I absolutely in hysterics watching it???

Doesn’t mean anything to anyone else but two kids were struggling with their mum’s debit card in Sainsbury’s earlier. They didn’t know the PIN and she wasn’t there.I paid it off my phone on Apple Pay. They were so grateful. It’s the third time I’ve done that and it’s not for likes. It makes me happy

A heads-up for next Monday...

Weather models are still showing a deep area of low pressure affecting the UK.

It looks like it'll be at least unseasonably windy, but worst-case scenario, stormy.

Details are still uncertain, but one to keep an eye on!

Next Monday's low could interact with the jet and deepen/turn left and sit more across the N of the UK..
Or run east as a less developed/flatter feature further south

Early next week needs close watching...

Weather models are suggesting an unseasonably deep area of low pressure may affect the UK Mon-Tue.

If it comes off, it could bring troublesome wind strength for the middle of summer.

ECMWF's sub-seasonal modelling suggests that the current pattern of high pressure just west of the UK, low pressure to the east, will shift eastward ever so gradually during the first half of August.

Trending drier & warmer in NW Europe - slowly increasing heatwave probability.
