As someone who spent college years watching Ted Koppel report nightly on Americans taken hostage by the Iranian Islamic Revolution, I couldn't imagine a right-wing, regressive #theocracy would take over my own country. But the parallels are impossible to ignore for anyone not under the #MAGA spell.
