When people decry Catholic Charities Houston for using money given to CCUSA, they are fundamentally misunderstanding how Catholic Charities work. (2)
A lot of people don't understand that Catholic Charities USA and your local Catholic Charities are not the same organization. Local CC are affiliates of CCUSA but are different organizations usually and are connected to their diocese. (1)
Anyways, this is just a suggestion to donate to your local Catholic Charities or a specific Catholic Charities (like CC Milwaukee, the people who made the video that went viral). Not that CCUSA doesn't need the money but supporting local programs is a huge help!

Nations have the right to protect their borders, broadly speaking. But this does not absolve the Christians within those borders from doing all they can to help migrants and refugees. And telling them, “Go home!” is not what Jesus had in mind.
