Buying old tape collections is fun -- a couple weeks ago my girlfriend bought ~160 jazz fusion tapes from a guy in Delaware. She's now the world's biggest Jan Hammer fangirl. Today we're going down to buy more tapes.

You find the craziest shit.

(physical media being cheap does not apply to vinyl records, those are crazy right now, but CDs and DVDs are practically free)

Yeah, I've been getting back into physical media lately -- it's soo cheap right now and you can actually discover new things easier.

Haven't 100% given up streaming (still use YouTube) but honestly don't miss Spotify or Netflix

I listened to this so much as a kid.

Naive as I was, I found this extraordinary. How could anyone do something so obviously consequential without getting everyone together, hashing out the pros and cons, making sure you’d thought of everything, and ONLY THEN making a decision?

I’m much less amazed by this in the case of Trump.

What about "the wanderer"? It's quite short, but relatively well known I think.

Also from a single manuscript I believe.

I don't know why he makes some people insane, but that seems to be how he blows up.

Looks great!

Didn't take pics, but did a Thai curry for Christmas Eve. It's just the two of us this year, so just stuff we like.

Doing wings tomorrow.

Brainstorming always gets me, because why are you skipping the fun part?

Really one of the most bizarre ones. I don't think I've ever seen it carbonated, usually it's served in a slushie.

That's not correct www.etymonline.com/word/Istanbul

It's more like if NYC was called thessidy in 500 years because people were used to calling it "the city".
Istanbul - Etymology, Origin & Meaning of the Name
"in (or to) the city," which is how the local Greek population referred to it. Turkish… See origin and meaning of istanbul.

More centaur robots I say.

But I'd probably just see what you can get for cheap, any should be able to accept DRM free files via usb connection.

If you're reading PDFs, you might want a large size device.

Boox brand devices run android, so they're a more open ecosystem than other e-readers

Remarkable devices also don't have a content store, since they're intended more for writing than reading.

The DRM is tied to the store, not the device, e.g. a kindle will read non-DRM epub and PDFs just fine.

That said, I do have a few suggestions:
