Should Tibet have stayed a slave holding society bc that's what some Tibetans wanted? No. Some things are wrong & should change. The xenophobia of some African Americans is also wrong & shouldn't be coddled. They have never given a non bigoted educated reason why AA is bad / incorrect.

& it’s almost always a conservative African American pushing it which says it all really lol. “It’s to feel good about ourselves” when it’s about accuracy, reality & respect more than anything, like you are not serious people.

I support Zohran, I am from NYC, my family is still there. I want him to win. The article was bad faith & created by white supremacists. I was never offended by him doing that at 18. It was white ppl deciding anyone could be African American erasing it as an ethnicity that was offensive

I will walk back that everyone pushing the idea Zohran could be African American is racist. I was very upset w how bold ppl were, not even trying to look into it. Most are just uneducated. But it’s a bad look to push the idea without even checking. I felt Zohran was just misguided, not malicious

Ppl moved away from negro ethnicity wise bc it was also being used as a slur. Nobody is going to give better consistent, accurate & non bigoted logic than Jesse Jackson did. Many ppl are uneducated on this topic, it’s frustrating. But I will stand by the term bc it’s all I have.

Notice this justification was that Africans would “behead & scalp him” if called African. This is antiblackness & xenophobia, describing them as savages he feels more “civilized” than. I know black ppl from Africa, they have never looked at me crazy for saying I’m AA. He’s ignorant.
July 4, 2025 at 7:44 PM
The older black woman I argued w over this, literally kept saying how she was a racist that hates Africans & that’s why she won’t call herself African American. Why should anyone follow her logic? She’s uneducated, bigoted & incoherent!

Not every black person will be educated on our history or trustworthy, please look into things & ask ppl who are knowledgeable on the topics. I can’t force other AA to identify respectfully, & I won’t. But they’re using bigotry which I will never stand with. I am against xenophobia

I actually study history, imperialism, colonialism etc.. asking a random black or African American person, who may not even know who or why Jesse Jackson pushed the term, may get you ignorant, incorrect answers. Being born AA/black doesn’t magically give you knowledge.

Lastly, epigenetics backs up ‘African American’ too. 200+ years of Trans Atlantic Slavery affected our gene expression. Between this, cultural difference & the forced mixing. We literally are a distinct ethnic group.

‘African American’ is respecting that I am mixed with some of these groups, & that I acknowledge my ancestral lineage from African slaves. It acknowledges reality, & is not fueled by incoherent xenophobic bigotry like the terms ‘ADOS’ & ‘FBA’
July 4, 2025 at 6:47 PM
My own grandmother hated the term African American bc she felt she was better than Africans. Just ask them why, it’s pure ignorance, bigotry & antiblackness, no logic at all. Jesse Jackson was correct to push/coin the term, other ppl are using bigotry to deny reality.
July 4, 2025 at 6:47 PM
All of this is messy bc of the forced mixing of enslaved people. African American is the most respectful & honest term we will ever have. We have our own culture & language. We are clearly a unique ethnic group. African is only a catch all bc we can’t trace directly to African ethnicities.
July 4, 2025 at 6:47 PM
There’s a lot of African Americans that don’t like the term bc they are xenophobic & distance themselves from Africa entirely. I’ve literally gotten into an argument over this a few months ago w an older black person lol. Many older African Americans are like this unfortunately
July 4, 2025 at 6:47 PM
I *personally* don’t like black American as an ethnic term bc other black groups were also subjected to the same treatment & deemed black. Race was created as a power structure so it’s messy but ethnicity always existed in humanity. It’s genetic & the truest cultural identity.

Why would Obama need to call himself African, referring to a diverse continent, when he knows what African ethnicity he descends from? Think of it logically. He is Kenyan (American), he’s still black, he has no need to identify with African American outside of confusion w the label.
July 4, 2025 at 6:47 PM
It’s not *my* definition, that’s literally what the term means & why it was created by other African Americans.
