For book it Depends. There are books which you genuinely can't get into but will come to love it you read it later or in a different mood.

Everything is blessing in disguise & nothing is bad for ind.Everything is chance for reform which will lead to growth sometime in far future. When someone wants to be optimist they don't like being countered. Topji has managed to make his success feel like ind so can't qustn without feeling antinat

Essentially accepting and even in Biden Era this was clear the old order which was anchored by American power is gone so for now old rules don't apply. Trump is just making it explicit.
January 6, 2026 at 3:24 PM
That is correct. But right now there's no common set of rules so yes china will extend claim then onus wud be on east Asian countries whether they want to resist or bandwagon china unlike Russia offers carrots too. But whatever usa does here is irrelevant bc rules aren't accepted anyway. US is

Russia makes this argument anyway china is more subtle in Asia security by Asian framework. neither of them need Justification and for china international law is on its side with regard to Taiwan at least so they don't need Justification.

Which is what he's doing. But here's the thing sphere of influence isn't a legal term to be granted you have to show and others need to accept its your sphere India considers subcontinent its sphere. pak and china disagree. Russia too failed this. Will China succeed in East Asia.maybe.

Shared values is preceded by and basically means shared history which usa never had with ind unlike with Japan and especially chn & west ofc. This relationship was always transactional with bets being put for future. Neither ind nor usa ever believed they shared lot with each other.
January 6, 2026 at 10:09 AM
to adapt to balance of power where rules are selectively applied and interests are frankly acknowledged. US is unusually well suited for it bc its core economic space is self sufficient and it shares extremely deep cultural ties with other powerful players & hemisphere tougher for others to enter
January 5, 2026 at 2:53 PM
Rbio isn’t necessarily in usa interest & multipolar world isn’t against it per se. as long as balance of power within system is such that it favours usa it might be better than a hegemony which declines anyway. Late stage hegemons talk legitimacy precisely bc material power declines. so its better

Radfems were right on one thing only and that's most men being bad on one specific issue

Europeans were very clear that western alliance is cultural and civilizational coded ethnic so turkey was unlikely to be invited. As French said turkey isn't European.

Newsom loathes gop he doesn't really have any other policies which is good. But thing is there's deep longing for respectability politics within dems. It makes them feel smart and adult and I think Newsom might be the only one immune. Even then maybe.

Primary reason why many in latam support Maduro getting deposed I believe. So they can deport the Venezuelans.
January 4, 2026 at 8:04 AM
Another amusing point your orban, mbz, lot of these small country depots even taliban to an extent are creatures protected by the previous international order they mock. What happens if Iran or a superpower simply eliminated those they disliked. Or even Europe did. It's not like they can retaliate

BTW we aren't in great power competition but carving up of world. G2+Russia if you'll. Think Frederick, Maria Theresa and Catherine coming to agreement by carving up Poland.
January 3, 2026 at 6:40 PM
Incidentally this is actual soft power. When you succeed it makes others want to associate with you. USA can never have the soft power of China or Russia since its leader of west and most countries define themselves as anti West what it can have is this soft power associated with winners.
