Had a 1st (or 2nd?) gen Civic for about 2 weeks. Bought it in highschool from a friend in winter for $400. Parents yelled at me (rightfully so). Sold it for $375.

Ah. Never had coolant issues. Just swollen chrome lug nuts and coils. I gave up and traded it in in 2010. Damn good car.

I'm sure there are ways to stop them, but nothing comes to mind... Some chemical deterrent? Chicken wire? Godspeed.
