The reality of war is that people die. They are often people who did not want to be there and just happen to be in service to an awful regime. There is nothing you can do about that, though, other than encouraging desertion (which, for the record, the US actually did with Japanese troops).

Europe's population is greying and shriveling away, and without immigrants and minorities the US's would shortly follow suit. No amount of "traditional values" will change Western demographics to be competitive with Africa or South Asia's, it is mathematically impossible.

I say this as someone who studies the mid-20th century: it is not coming back. If every non-white person left the West, if gay marriage were banned and women were forced back into the kitchen and all that these people hope for comes true, they will still have to reckon with that fact.
