Rhododendrons are blooming at a strange time here in WNC. Although, this a spring bloomer flowering during November might be one of the lesser strange happenings in WNC lately.

Happy #waspwednesday to this sweet tiny parasitic wasp I mounted last fall (Genus Leucospis)! 🌿🪲🐝

These guys are parasitoids of larval Hymenoptera, mostly solitary bees!

Assuming past lives are real, lots of us would have been ammonites at some point. I really hope when I was an ammonite I was preserved and rediscovered. Ideally pyritized or opalized, or with a cool inlay!! Like how fucking cool is this...
