I love spicy things, being outside, the ocean, vegetables, taking pictures, animals, and music, to name a few
I shall give my family a nice mix of trials for Christmas.

Posting for accountability: no one needs this many hot peppers. I need to start fewer seeds in 2026. I’ve made a ton of hot sauce and eaten many raw. This is what was left on plants before 7f temps a few nights ago. The gold/brown ones are Pumas and they are HOT. I guess I make more sauce.

The usual “paddle a canoe full of Christmas decorations to a crowd of kids”, this time with freezing rain. We escort Santa to the dock and then throw candy canes to the kids.

This week has been the “working cats”’ first snow since we’ve had them. Last year, they were not yet out of the loft. We aren’t sure if they saw any before the shelter picked them up, and that was their first winter. They don’t seem to mind it at all…

Decisions were made here. Actually, Statler seemed to like his (partially) inflatable hamburger skating rink.

Catnip, then fake hunting of an inanimate object.

It was really miserable out today, and the roads were bad, but look at the icy glaze on these holly leaves and berries.

I had no idea that a 10” funnel was something missing from my life. Yes, I got 2 - one is a Christmas gift (I know the recipient will feel the same).

This “language” gives me unpleasant feelings.

This much color at the end of November feels like a bonus.

I love my on-demand smorgasbord of hot peppers of all shapes, sizes, colors, flavors, and heat levels. This was one day’s ration for me. I won’t love it so much in February as I’m starting seeds once more.

I brake for town pounds. This one is near Lebanon, CT.

I started this sauce last year, basically, because I saved seeds from 2024. I picked tons of 2025 peppers and fermented them with onion and garlic. Today I finally blended it… it’s HOT, bright, and plentiful. It will probably last a year. I actually have too many peppers for the first time ever.

#tmbg.love @tmbg.love Horses are listening in, literally! They’re munching breakfast in the sun.

(Click to see whole image) Just noticed this - phew, I HATE when my almonds aren’t under warranty. I’m surprised I haven’t gotten a call about extending this yet, you know, for my protection.

Pico de gallon that I picked and made in the 15 minutes between work and dinner. There are 5 kinds of tomatoes and 4 kinds of hot peppers in it - but not really spicy ones.

Second time ever seeing northern lights - backyard view was pretty good. I think I could have seen more green if I got past the trees in the lower left.

As the kids say, these hit different in November. Hopefully the plants survived last night.

Scary images of working cats and their prey. Viewer discretion is (not) advised.

My hand has hurt and been really tender today. I keep checking out these tiny old cuts to see if there’s a reason “they” are doing this. I finally looked harder, and there’s a nice hematoma (hard to see with lousy iPad camera) further down. Okay, that makes more sense, but I feel stupid.

A cat bed made of a cat. Good thing they have no personal space requirements.
