I think it's really good at the slightly slower pace. Maybe the decision to speed it up was about radio play or something.

Brilliant song. I love how it hangs on at 'cry-y-y'. It's quite a simple song so a huge voice suits it perfectly.

I bought the S&L LP not long after I saw that concert on tv and it was more or less the only Joni I listened to for ages. When I finally heard the studio cut of this song, it felt weird, almost lumpen, which is odd given how great the personnel are on TSOSL. But the S&L band are something else.

Aye, saw him in Liverpool last year. Bloke and his dad in front of us, I'm guessing bucket-list for the auld fella, but he was very deaf and they were both pissed, spilled a pint, all kicked off. More stillness and quiet to try and lock-in the experience would've been great for me but still 10/10
