If you do standards work, you should not waste your time with ISO because they charge for access to their standards. As a result I almost never implement them. Charging for standards is just ridiculous, and you should not agree to work on them unless the final result becomes public.
I saw a funny video where a guy said "if the US wants to sell citizenship for $5M, then can I sell my citizenship and get the fuck out of here?" That raises an interesting point in economics - if there was a free market for people to trade their citizenship, what value would be placed on them?
Monday will be the 40th anniversary of my first attendance at the Crypto conference. 40 years ago I gave the first talk at the conference. I didn't know wtf I was doing. I still don't.
