To be clear, I read your initial involvement here as talking down to non voters and patronising them. Explaining that the solution to their problems was "keep voting." As if nobody ever thought of it, as if your strategy is costless and everyone else is too stupid to get the subtle complex nuances.
It is very hard to show people how punishment rarely hits the target it’s intended for, and often fosters what the punishment intends to stop despite all the history and evidence there. I really had a time figuring out how to explain I agreed with their anger and was also telling them the solution.
