Silly Will, you forgot to ask the nameless, faceless signal chat moderators for permission before you did anything!
Don't you know that the entire protest movement is only possible through their singular, selfless effort, and everyone should be thanking & interviewing them - not you?
January 30, 2026 at 1:33 AM
Wait, why aren't they respecting opsec here? Why are they showing protestor's faces? Why are they allowing journalists to be present during their operation? This is against the terms & conditions of the signal group chat that I just made up now!
January 30, 2026 at 1:13 AM
Aren't all acts of protest inherently a form of attention-seeking behavior?
It just seems antithetical to "the cause" to be against increasing the attention paid to the protest movement.
January 30, 2026 at 1:08 AM
Luckily nobody will ever actually know who did it or how to undo the ban, so it's an unfixable mistake too!
January 30, 2026 at 12:53 AM
Alex Pretti and Renee Good weren't wearing masks, these "opsec" people demand that nobody ever film protesters' faces ever - should people not have been filming them in their minds, I wonder?
January 30, 2026 at 12:49 AM
It's just such powerful imagery to see unmasked, normal civilians standing up to masked, faceless, nameless agents of the state - and you only get that imagery out there if there are journalists to document & report it!
January 30, 2026 at 12:46 AM
I'm just imagining what happened to Alex Pretti but instead an insistence on "opsec" and secrecy leading to nobody hearing about it at all. Why would that be acceptable in these anonymous leaders' minds?
January 30, 2026 at 12:44 AM
This whole affair is just mind-numbingly dumb, though I know you know it.
Why do certain (apparently high-level) members of the group think it's a good idea to conduct observation and resistance but without the rest of the country seeing any of it and why would the other members agree?
January 30, 2026 at 12:43 AM
Like, thank god we banned the main face publicizing the effort against what was happening as the news outlets slowly cease coverage as their attention span drifts elsewhere. That was clearly the most pressing matter for people in Minneapolis!

Q: So you're not pulling back in Minnesota?

TRUMP: No no. Not at all.
January 30, 2026 at 12:30 AM
It's a (mostly) anonymous, decentralized local resistance... but they can ban you from participating entirely if some random person in the signal group doesn't personally agree with your strategy.
It just doesn't make sense.
January 30, 2026 at 12:27 AM
I mean, the whole strategy of resistance is nonviolent observation, noisemaking, and strength in numbers!
It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to want it to be a private effort considering that you all are working against the combined might of every federal agency's ability to push propaganada

When a federal judge feels the need to include this reminder, you know things aren't going well.

Gotta give em' a huge grin too, use it as a pfp later
