Random thought of the day (one of many): I don't want to be a unicorn. I'm more of a rhino, more bull in China shop than pixie with fairy dust.

I made the mistake of singing "no" to my cat to the tune of Joy to the World and now I can't get it out of my head. (The no version not the real version)

I wonder how many people have to die before the Republicans will care? Gaza and Ukraine have showed that tolerance for "other people's" death and suffering is quite high.

Been listening to a podcast about great thinkers, scientists, authors, artists, mathematicians, politicians, etc. throughout world history.

Who are the "big names" from the mid-20th and into the 21st century? The people who the next generation will learn about in their college gen ed courses?

New stories where health insurance execs express "surprise" that there is so much support for the killer and not the CEO. is gaslighting at it's finest. Also, saying that the deceased was one of the "good guys fighting against the system" is also gaslighting. Who do you think makes "the system"?

Was listening to old episodes of In Our Time and this poem was read. While the conversation focused on the title, it was the whole last stanza that gave me a physical reaction.

Anti-Intellectualism and hyper-individualism has created a nation too gullible, ignorant and selfish to recognize history when it introduces itself and slaps them in the face.
