The two people I saw today (while shopping) wearing FRSM would have *no chance of avoiding infection* in an enclosed space that had a virus circulating.

I understand where Trish is coming from. An FRSM can help. And a respirator that is loose fitting can be worse than a FRSM.
But I think we should be raising our game to explain the details of what PPE should be worn and how.

Korea and much of Asia wear respirators.

Also wearing just any old mask (e.g. FRSM) will leave you prone to catching a different airborne virus, to the one you already have.

This is definitely not best practice but a slippery slope to failure.

It's not difficult to educate the public which face covering performs better and why. Just difficult to get someone at UKHSA or NHS to explain it all.
