The aftermath of a rape complaint for a woman is painful, traumatising and degrading. The courts want to prolong and extend that trauma in the court room.

This is an expression of the violent misogyny endemic in our legal system. Trials can be fair without inflicting violence on women complainers.

They're a little less transparent about how much goes to local book shops, although what has leaked suggests they've been generous so far. I've been impressed.
