yeah ... that thing w/ the yellow gloves was a real miss.

I thought Jay Kay's death looked like a crab. Even on its own terms it fell flat. There's lots of imagery to draw from for "moon" and none of it was there. Even the literal moons were confusing - they looked like claws and a tail.

I've discovered that tiny babies - 10 months old or so - absolutely *love* chewing on a hunk of salt licorice. And they drool black goo while they do it, so ... bonus, I guess.

Where do you go for short Dread scenarios? Are you writing your own?

You can't make a poisonous mushrooms safe to eat by boiling it.

meh. The risk reward of crossing the street could be analyzed the same way.

There are simple, straightforward ways to safely forage wild mushrooms. It's safer, even, then crossing the street.

I suffered a sort of malaise last week, but it could have been a bout of depression; it's so hard to tell.

I get this - my friends who fall into this category are people I genuinely admire and respect. I don't *want* to give them a hard time.

But I *do* want to clown on Libertarians generally, and I worry I'll give offense when I do.

Wouldn't it cover literally anyone who was charged for a crime committed on or near the capital on Jan 6? Regardless of it's connection w/ the assault on the capital building?

... after that, it'd be any of several Tom Petty songs. Really, just whichever Tom Petty song I had to listen to most recently.

Think of a Tom Petty song, any one of them - I fucking hate that song.

That doesn't sound fun at all.

It doesn't seem like it'd be possible to get sleet at 26°.

I can't speak highly enough about Arsenic and Lies. Every time I've played, it has been an incredible experience. It is so much fun.

I have a big collection of small games that I've picked up, and I have an even bigger wish list of small games I'm looking to pick up. I budget a small portion of every paycheck for it.

I buy plenty of small games - games I can play in a single session on short notice.

It helps w/ scheduling. I can insist on running my campaign session only when I have a full table; otherwise I fall back to playing something else.

So I am constantly on the lookout for games that fit this niche.

meh. Anyone who's calling their multiple >100 pg rule book game "rules light" is silly and shouldn't be taken seriously.

There are silly people in the world, I'm sure, but I don't let them determine what words mean.

equally handy: "games for which you need a working knowledge of multiple >100 pg rule books to play"
December 3, 2025 at 8:01 AM
idk. "games that you can learn to play in 15 minutes or so" is a pretty handy way to categorize games.
