Gave myself a gaming project this year. Beat all the mainline single-player Final Fantasy games I hadn't yet finished. This morning I beat FF13, finishing my goal. Now onto the two MMO's.

My mom tried everything to get me one for Christmas that year but under the tree was mostly bare since she budgeted for it but couldn't snag one until that summer. Truly a tragic moment for a young Michael.

Been working on sprucing up an old PS3 for the last week and realized I now have the ability to play the one Yakuza game released in the west I've never played before. Yakuza: Dead Souls, aka Zombie Yakuza. This one... might be a rough playthrough.

Sadly this means the end of my game pass subscription. $30 split between three companies (Microsoft, Ubisoft, and EA) that I want to do less business with, not more. Next console cycle may be the first I skip since the NES.

@notthattomgreen.is.tired.fyi does some of my favorite wrestling commentary these days. Equal parts pure optimism and pure education. I'm always learning about new old wrestlers and factoids that I had never heard of before. Highly recommend giving him a shot.

Seemingly every fall my wife starts watching Gilmore Girls again and I start watching Deep Space Nine again. Now while I know everything about Luke and Lorelei, she doesn't know a thing about Garak and Bashir. I keep hoping to fix this discrepancy.

Look, the first band I fell in love with that didn't come from my parents was Sublime. So being able to finally see them live, with Brad's son taking over lead duties, is a truly magical day for me.

Update: My boss is actively working to move the work conflict out of the way. So I'm going to take the subway to keep on dancing at the Pink Pony Club.
Yes I now have Chappell Roan tickets and yes I have a work conflict on the exact same day of the concert. I will be emailing both parties to see if they can come to a mutual understanding.

Bought my first Magic The Gathering deck yesterday (Final Fantasy Starter Kit). The last time I played the game I put it down to check out this brand new video game called Warcraft 2.

Yakuza, Octopath, Katamari, Persona. That Switch direct had a lot to get me excited for. I'm even pumped to see Star Wars Outlaws which is a perfect "wait for sale" opportunity for me in 2026.

Not trying to be a hater, but I think I realized why Fantastic Four felt so hollow to me, and it's because it released so close to Superman. Superman was really ABOUT something. It had stuff to say and gave you lots to think about. They're similar in so many ways but I felt talked down to in F4.
