He reached into the closet and pulled out a long woman's winter coat. "This should fit you." He handed it to her and looked away. She took the coat and held it for a moment. Knowing whose coat it was made it heavier than expected. It was pulling on her soul, almost too much weight to bear. "Merci." The softness with which she spoke the word surprised her. She put it on, reeling with emotion she dared not express. To make matters worse, the fit was perfect. "Merci," she repeated, louder this time. "C'est bien ... non, c'est parfait." Her English failed as she fought back tears, as if her mind was saying you can either speak English or fight back your tears, you can't do both. French would have to do. "It looks good," Taylor said, glancing around the room. "I'm glad it will get some use." She held out her hand. Taylor took hold, as gentle as ever. She paused, allowing the touch to linger, then triggered the displacement.
